Do I have to register to book an event?

Yes. To book an event on My Italian Friends you need to register. When you register you create a profile page where you can report any food allergies or intolerances. You can also indicate the type of food you prefer, a useful information for the Host to allow him to prepare a personalised menu when possible. You don’t need to register to browse all the offers or the profiles of the Italian Friends.

From the LOGIN page, click on “Forgot Password?”, enter the e-mail address you used to register your account and we will give you the option to reset your password.

Yes. After registering you will have access to MY ACCOUNT. This will allow you to see your profile, manage your bookings and reviews, change your password and delete your account.

On the SEARCH tab, enter the city or province you are interested in. You can also narrow the search by choosing a date range, price range or the type of service you are looking for. By clicking on SEARCH BY REGION you can see offers relating to specific regions.

The Italian Friends registered on the site are Home Restaurants or cooking schools which are already working with Italian customers. The fact that there are no reviews simply means that they may be new to the site and they haven't had any booking yet. You can send them a message if you want further information before booking.

In the Host's page you can click on REQUEST INFO OR OTHER DATES or from the offer page you can click on SEND A REQUEST . With wither option you will be able to contact the Host directly to ask for more information.

All our offers are linked to food, the best opportunity for Italian people to get together. It could be lunch, dinner or an aperitif. Often the dishes will be prepared following local recipes and using local products. In addition, the Italian Friend could offer other experiences such as, for example, a visit to a local market where to buy the ingredients necessary for a cooking class, or a walkabout to let you know beautiful areas usually unknown to tourists, or mushrooms picking, truffle hunting, fishing....

You can search the offer by date and make a booking but be aware that the event will take place only if the minimum number of participants is reached. On the other hand, as places are limited, they could sell really fast. Should the event be fully booked on the dates you are interested in, you can suggest an alternative date but it will be at the Host discretion to host the event or not. Should the event be fully booked on the dates you are interested in, you can click on  SEE OTHER DATES to see other available dates or you can click on  SEND A REQUEST to request for the event to be held on a specific date.

The Host sets the price and this includes food, beverage and services included in the offer. The price you see is the price you pay, we take a small percentage for administration costs but this is charged to the Host.

The Host is solely responsible for the quality of the experience. From the Host‘s profile page you will be able to see reviews from previous guests and this will help you to make an informed choice.

When you have found the offer you like, click on BOOK NOW, enter the number of participants and the total price will be displayed. Some Host may offer reduced prices for certain categories like children. You will be redirected to a page where you can reserve your place through PayPal or by debit/credit card. Please note that there are no additional costs to what is the displayed price of the event and payment will be taken only after the Host has confirmed acceptance of your booking usually within 12/24 hours. Once the Host accepts your booking, you will receive a confirmation message. We will send you another e-mail 24 hours prior to the event containing the address, directions on how to get to the venue and the mobile number of the Host for you to get in touch if you have any problem.

You can call the Host directly on the number you will receive with your confirmation.

To cancel a booking you can log on to MY ACCOUNT>MY RESERVATIONS and cancel your reservation. Please note that some Host may have different cancellation policies so always refer to their Profile Page’s terms and conditions. Where not otherwise specified, normal cancellation fees are:
Cancellation more than 24 hours in advance: free of charge
Cancellation less than 24 hours in advance: 100% of the cost

No, tipping is not part of the Italian culture, the best way to show your appreciation for the hospitality is to write a good review.
